Well, bought a '93 Series 2 GX Wagon today.

Has a very very very broken 3.9 Dual Range Cogswapper mounted up to another low km EJ20G with a vf10. Got it for a good price.

Now the task of getting the gearbox and diff (4.11) out of the crashed one. Big weekend ahead

You said it

It was funny listening to this thing rattle the box as he drove it home over the phone while I was getting parts for mine to make it run right.

RS's - reliability plus!

yep. frank's car.

really neat inside + out. it didn't have the WRX motor nor the td05 as advertised.

it has an RS/legacy motor with a vf10. (dual bolt coils)

post-rim fitment + coilover fitment..

and today i've been pretty busy taking the gearbox out of the wrecked series 1. took me and a mate just over an hour getting it out. pretty stoked with today's efforts. i've cleaned up the diff, put new redline heavyweight in; and tidied up a few bits here and there. here's some photos.

everything out of the way. crossmembers. cv's. tailshaft. etc:

new BIG jack. very handy. in this photo we were shifting it backwards down the trans tunnel

gearbox out. me a happy chappy.

before + after shots of diff.

scored a hoist + workshop to use tomorrow to put it in the new series 2!

series 2 isn't going into gear. the shifter linkage bushes were FLOGGED out, replaced them - but still no luck. i suspect it's something internal.

i'll keep you posted!
