Ok.

Bit of an update.

STi scoop is on.

Varex is wired up. Hopefully will be installed tomorrow

Tried the lights, the HID's switch off when I flick the high beams on. Need to work out why. Oh and one of the STi lights is shiny the other is matte. Tips on what to do?

EDIT: Photos tomorrow. Don't have a camera :/

it's good to see my lil scoop is being put to use after 9 months in my room watching me f5 on facebook and lurk redtube

also, in regards to your lighting dillema (shiny vs matte), are you talking about the housing?

because if this is the case one could be ausdm and one could be jdm and that would be upsetting

As far as i know - it's normal for the HIDs to turn off when the high beam is on - mine do the same.

Get some clear plastic cleaner and it will bring both headlights up like new!

Hrmmm ok. My old sti's HID light stayed on when high beam was turned on.

Nah I was talking about the inside of the light. The black trim around the light and indicator.

^ Any sign that the housing has been opened? Maybe dodgey repair on a normally silver housing light?

Yeah it has been opened but I think it was more of a mod than a repair.

I might just have to bake it and change it. I cbf baking it though in case I fk it up.

Another update...

Been a week without the car. Its been serviced by my mechanic who also installed my new struts and lowered springs

He also drained the gearbox over 24 hours for me and put the smurf snot in. Its like a brand new gearbox!!! The car runs so smooth now. Very happy chappy!

Plus the Varex TBE exhaust is on as well!!! Only problem is that the butterfly valve isnt opening up Need to find out what the story is. I can hear the electrical box clicking when I push the remote but the motor isnt operating.

Jason, I'm pretty sure Joe created a fairly detailed thread about his hid install, may be worth checking out.

Sounds like you still need to tweak the wiring to me.

marc these are non hid headlights i had on my car before I got the jdm ones i never got to figure out how to get the low beam to stay on with high beam using stock wiring of the bugeye can be fixed if you spend sometime messing with wiring in a relay though
