and NT03's in this size will do the job... Although you may have to switch stud patterns...

SJTWRC 21-12-2011 10:14 AM

UPDATE: Cusco front lip has arrived :D It looks so good all wrapped up in bubble wrap, might be a new feature to my car to keep it safe? ;)

Jimmy S 21-12-2011 11:00 AM

Good idea Steph! I've heard barriers can sometimes jump out at unsuspecting female red WRX drivers around here! ;)

SJTWRC 21-12-2011 11:05 AM

Ooo harsh jimmy haha

teejay 21-12-2011 11:11 AM

Jimmy just crashes through with that comment. Doesnt mind bumping and grinding opinions, even if barriers exist.

AJAYJAY 21-12-2011 05:54 PM

want me to fit it?? ill use 2 lot of cable tires to keep it safe

REXXXED 21-12-2011 06:02 PM

Dont let Ajayjay touch your lips or your flaps ;)

SJTWRC 22-12-2011 01:01 AM

It's being fitted professionally. No cable ties

Mike 22-12-2011 10:19 AM

What's unprofessional about cable ties?

SJTWRC 22-12-2011 10:24 AM

its dodgy and they break. my current lip has cable ties

Soksta 22-12-2011 10:37 AM
What's unprofessional about cable ties?
Nothing if you're a hard core drifter...

Basically go nuts and find any hole that aligns on the bumper and lip and put as many screws/nuts into it.
Mine never fell off :D

Mike 22-12-2011 11:22 AM

^^ and I'd be throwing some double sided tape into the mix . . .

Edit: Some of that 3M shit.

Saint_23 22-12-2011 12:23 PM

Sikaflex works. Ask Philbo.

REXXXED 22-12-2011 12:35 PM

Nuts and bolts are perfectly fine, just dont stinge out. Mine's been on for years and also given a good flogging on the gravel every now and then and they're still tight as a Jew

Jimmy S 22-12-2011 01:15 PM

Needs to be painted anyway, so get the panel beater to glue/sikaflex/bolt it on! :)

Did your wife let you keep your front lip?
Did your wife let you keep your front lip?
HAHAHAHAHA Oh touché

tris7an 22-12-2011 03:40 PM

You definitely want sickaflex other wise any screws and bolts will end up causing little cracks where they were placed due to vibrations and eventually this will worst case scenario break the lip not very likely but could happen so I would sickaflex it get the stuff they use for holding panels on cars : D can't remember which number it is but it's tough can't wait to see this ride out and about good luck

Rexxar 22-12-2011 04:54 PM

my Ultrex front lip is all held by bolts(was cable tied but didnt sit how I wanted it too) - 1 bolt, 2 oversized washer, 1 nut on each hole and drill extra holes on the lip so it will hold up and sits flush with bumper
mine cops a battering every time I enter/leave my work carpark - very steep driveway

My post about using sikaflex was a joke. If you put it on you will never get it off again.
My front lip has been held on with bolts for a couple of years now without issue*

*May have damaged on a curb due to driver error

tris7an 22-12-2011 06:38 PM

true it won't come off but thats the point isnt it lol
i always use sikaflex on my kits but each to his own : D

REXXXED 22-12-2011 07:00 PM

Mega scrape/crack on your lip......."FUCK shouldn't have EPICLY GLUED IT TO MY CAR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

Hindsight: Should have bolted it, life would be so much easier right now if i did......

reconus 22-12-2011 08:35 PM

So Sam, since you glued and didn't bolt, your life has become drastically much more difficult? :p

REXXXED 22-12-2011 09:43 PM

Actually Farnam, never glue mine, just bolted. Just pointing out that I wouldnt do it. Especially because front lips are so easy to damage and need fixing/replacing

ImPreSiV 22-12-2011 09:52 PM

16 x self tappers ftw!

SJTWRC 23-12-2011 11:57 AM

I'm pretty sure it will be bolted on. I'm gona be so devo first time i scrape my new lip, its inevitable that its going to happen sooner or later

SJTWRC 14-01-2012 03:04 PM

New Wheels!

Ladies and gentlemen.... drum roll please! :D

My latest and biggest mod to date: Rota Gforce 18x9, 5x100 +35 offset in Hyper Black

Picked them up and fitted this morning through Westys Warehouse. A big thank you to them :) Also a huge thanks to Kym for helping me organise them and sharing his knowledge on tyre sizes etc (I knew nothing). Choosing what design and colour was probably the hardest decision I've had to make regarding my rex... But seeing them being put on this morning I knew I'd made the right choice cos they look sexy as! and as Kym says: "Tough!!"

Next thing to do is get a wheel alignment and looks like my guards have to be rolled. Didn't notice to much knocking/scraping/rubbing on the drive home but yeah I think I better get it done.

Hope you all like :)

kid 14-01-2012 03:15 PM

Rims look great....i thought rolling guards was only necessary if they are rubbing hard?

Judging from the last pic, maybe stiffer suspension and some neg camber might do the trick....i'll let the suspension gurus confirm/ deny.....

SJTWRC 14-01-2012 04:56 PM

Thanks, yeah i don't know. I'll see what happens when I go get my wheel alignment and see about camber

Mister Two 14-01-2012 04:57 PM

I don't think you'll need massive amounts of camber. But definitely flat roll the guard lips.

Jimmy S 14-01-2012 05:06 PM

Looks awesome Steph!!

I'd roll the guards and maybe a degree of -ve camber just to help them tuck and you should be sweet! Could even go a touch lower! ;)

teejay 14-01-2012 05:13 PM

LIR likes this!

Looks good.. tiny bit more low would be ideal

ImPreSiV 14-01-2012 05:23 PM

Looks like Stephs running king or whiteline springs all round. Front is so low we had to lift the guards by hand to get Westy's 'lowered car' jack underneath. I think any lower would make it completely impractical to drive. It's about 60mm of clearance at the front ATM with the lip it looks!

Camber and a good alignment will make it look much better!

And you're welcome!

SJTWRC 14-01-2012 05:33 PM

Not too keen on going lower, its annoying enough as it is! And yeah they are King Springs, I read Rhys's write up on the mods he did. Will be interesting to see if the mud flaps drag... will have to sus out when they arrive.

RichX 14-01-2012 05:37 PM

With the lip on you wont want to go any lower .. take it off, roll the guards and you can tuck all 4 wheels into the guards no worries with some camber with some coilovers if you want that look.

I was in the same boat and chose not to run a front lip in the end so i could go low and tuck them in, looks good.

SJTWRC 14-01-2012 05:49 PM

Thanks but I definitely want the front lip. Cusco is just waiting to be painted and fitted, going for a quote next week

'03' Wrexy 15-01-2012 10:27 AM

Love the wheels! looks hot
