reason for failure - EJ255 + 18psi + 6000+rpm would be my punt.

Honestly from the moment the new turbo went on I have known that it would do a big end.

I am not talking about building a $20k motor but I can't see the point of putting a stock 257 short block in with chocolate pistons.

As far as me not doing any motorsport there is only 1 reason and that has been concentrating on my business. The plan is to do some more sprints etc.

I think 8-10k is reasonable for a all up drive in drive out.

The current turbo is running the least amount of boost that it can bleeding masses out the wastegate on full throttle. So I may as well stick a bottom end in that will take some more.

However that all said and done I may have access to a $20k cosworth long motor brand new for around half price so that is an option.

BUT if a 257 long motor can just drop in with zero hassles that I think is probably the best option - Rising Sun $5,200.00 this is as cheap as buying a 257 short motor and bolting it all back together but has the plus of having dual AVCS and different heads etc.

there is no way, no how that it died from the tune....end of story IMO

I knew it was a matter of time before it happened as I am realist and I am not about to try and apportion blame anywhere.

Simple fact is 2.5 blocks and big ends have oiling issues and are not made to be punished with big turbos.

So it's not ASG fault that STECHNIC didn't send them a christmas card with a regifted socket set from MMS that was originally purchased at EVOR? Thank you for not stooping to the level of the blame game

But seriously 2.5L + Boost = limited life span

This thread fills me with dread of the "inevitable" ... Commence saving.

Go the Cosworth block you can get for 1/2 price (read cheap) Scary. Push through 24Psi and enjoy it as you runs consistent 11s in a barge.

So sorry this happened to you; very happy it didn't happen to me ... Yet ...

Have I told Sarina? Picture this.....................

Wife: Hi hon you are home early..........10 second pause....................What did you break?

Me: Engine

Wife: so what $10k? that's how much the last one was around about.

Me: Well it has been a while so prices may have gone up..............

Wife: more like you want to get more gucci bits and spend more.........

Yeah Shane in no way did I mean to intend that it was tuned poorly - was just trying to suggest dropping a bucket when it may of been a failure for other reasons.

The rising sun donk sounds like a great deal... but Cosworth nigga.
