I would suggest running E85 means the Liberty then comes off the road right ? Is the Lib going to be daily driven ?

You can run up to 24 psi or 1.65 bar and achieve max efficency from this turbo I believe. You might get an extra 20-25 kw atw on MMS dyno assuming bigger injectors with 98 and retune. Fuel economy will go south due to bigger injectors obviously.

My fuel economy was sitting high 10's, low 11's with ID1000's on 98 and I drove it like a rental so I don't agree with the "economy going south" sentiment.......

And what is the point of building a forged engine complete with a billet crank if you aren't going to lean on it? Its like buying a bespoke suit to go to McDonalds for dinner.

Both statements are of the same car, with the only difference being the injector size & a retune required to adjust the larger injectors. They should both still use the same (or very close) amount of fuel for a 100 k run, if in both instances the 100 k run was driven exactly the same.

1000cc injectors running afr's at a given sensible figure through the rev range

or

5000cc injectors running afr's the same as above through the rev range.

Install this new engine, and enjoy the exisiting turbo while knowing you can smash 30 psi boost if you want and it wont go donk donk.

Seriously when I consider the short distance and traffic snarls between your home and work I can see the scooter working much better until the rain starts...then what ?

OK to address most of the above;

1. AD you know the answer this is still the daily driver no way is a porky Lib going to be a track weapon

2. I am sure 2 bar is achievable out of the motor but we'll see how we go - obviously it will have a run in tune and we will go from there

3. No to E85

4. Yes only 8 km drive from casa cary to office so it will take a while to run in

5. Huggy - built motor is more luck of circumstance than planning or really spending so I am not desperate to eek every last kw out of it TBH

6. I only get 300km out of a full tank now so not too concerned and I agree I can;t see how the economy changes dependent on injector size - the only reason the economy will suck is it takes more fuel to make more power!

7. Have scooter for economy

8. Car will be finished before rain starts

9. no traffic when i go to work at 6:00am and leave after 5 - but I can see I might start going the loooong way

and finally the engine was just too good to refuse - if I want to live in la la land I could say I now have a motor for future toy that is on a long term run in program in the daily driver.

Buy Legacy RS shell with cage - install late model running gear and this engine - put stock engine that comes with half cut into daily. Going by my normal yearly km's it will have only done 5000km by the time I have a shell ready.
