Nice ride. Looking forward to seeing how this goes.

Got a Turbo XS catback installed yesterday.

Love the sound of this thing, great rumble and not raspy or too droney, which is exactly what i wanted.

However I think it may be leaking, cant hear anything driving off boost, but as soon as I hit boost there is a bit of a whine/whistle type noise. I assume this is a leak? The installer wasn't too happy with the supplied bolts and how it all lined up so I dont think its too surprising if there is a leak.

Only other issue is I now have a few more rattles in my car due to the extra vibrations

Sounds like a mixed bag of results then...suggest you take it back to installer and have him inspect with you. Bolts are easily replaced but if the pipe hangers dont line up right then you can have leaks for sure.

Tips do look nice on the back!

As for the rattles, they will develop over time, I'm still sorting out rattles in my car.
A pillar rattles can be fixed up easily, rattles from the rear could be the cargo tray/cover and this isn't too hard to fix.
B pillar rattles are going to be interesting to fix up!

There is a couple of good threads on NASIOC that may help you for the rattles and possible fixes.

The rattles seem to be coming from somewhere in the boot, may just be something simple like the retractable cargo cover thingy, I haven't really investigated yet. A and B pillars dont seem to rattle.

Im sure these things will only get worse like you said Tony, like when the new suspension goes in

not all of us are as anal as Tony when it comes to rattles. I had the rattles in the parcel shelf, as all MY11/12's do, but I stuffed it with foam - all good now

I know the fix for that one

2 part process to fix it
  • remove the cover and on each side where it mounts into the interior trim, place a couple of pieces of foam lined tape, you can also place some in the holes where it gets inserted
  • where the liner clips into place, put some foam in there, should stop or limit the movement of the liner and eliminate the noise

Red on the photo is where the foam tape should go.

Edit: at 45000km you get a lot of rattles and interior noise
