Thumbs up B32's 2012 Hatch

Figured I'd start a driveway thread instead of putting everything in my introduction thread.

2012 WRX Hatch, Premium, WR Blue. Car is still pretty much stock, just hit 1000km today.

Received my knock off front lip during the week so put it on today. Looks much better imo.

The self tapping screws that came with it are pretty crap, 20mins after installing it I stupidly parked at the shops and scraped the lip on a curb. No damage but it ripped a couple of the screws out. So I went to bunnings and bought some proper nuts bolts and washers, seems much sturdier now.

Also grabbed a set of black McGard lug nuts / locking nuts from STI325V6 (thanks mate). Have Pirelli PZero Nero tyres (255x35x18) on the way from Sydney which should arrive next week, so will be able to fit my Rota Grids (18x9.5 +38)soon.

RCE Bilstein yellows and springs are also on their way, hopefully car will look good lowered on these rims!

Also booked tint in for a couple of weeks time, which is much needed.

I think next step will be looking at other suspension mods (sway bars etc) and then exhaust. Also wouldn't mind an STI rear spoiler too but thats low priority.
Makavel, ImPreSiV, Soksta and 3 others like this.

Nice mate. I am looking forward to seeing those rims on that car! Should look awesome! That front lip looks good too, is it the Ultrex one? Looks a little chunkier than the genuine STI one I have

I think its the same as the Ultrex one, I actually bought it from N1 auto though.

WRX/STi 11+ CS Style Front Lip (PU) - N-1 AUTO ACCESSORIES

Crap thing with them is they screw through your existing bumper with the self tappers, making new holes, rather than using the existing holes that are further in (which I assume the genuine STI lip uses). Don't know why they didnt make use of the existing holes.

Anyway I'm liking the blue and black look.

Rims should look good, I always find it hard to tell until they are on the car.

The genuine lip came with a million accessories to fit it, but I just used self tappers and went into the bumper making new holes. It's the easiest option and it works just as well. No one see's under the bumper anyway, and I never plan on not having a lip.

I've seen the N1 stuff, you didn't think about going the carbon lip and getting the matching side kit?

Strong start with mods. I agree with Kympresive on the lip install...dont fret it as nobody is going to be seeing the underside of your bumper.

Looks good, will look great with the rims fitted.

Car looks good. Will look even better with those grids + springs.

Should see how my cf lip is fixed on. Many screws + gasket paste (on the inside of the lip) to fill up any gaps you could see between the lip and bumper (works pretty darn well...and it comes off easy if you want it to as well).

It's not pretty underneath but like Kym said, who cares, looks good where it matters.

Thanks guys. Yeah im not too worried about the screws you can't see underneath the car.

This is kinda the look im going for, this car looks sweet. I particularly like how he has replaced or painted black his foglight surrounds. Looks much better than blue. Might have to suss it out.
