Just stumbled across this thread...
Thought it was a driveway thread??? Was interesting read until the 4th or 5th page..

But now that I am here..
I've had shytloads of work done by Evo r.
I've stopped in while on my way past to ask Mao or Warwick their opinion on something.. Both will stop what their doing, explain It in detail and provide enough information for me to go away and decide best course of action..
Over the last 12 months I've probably spent in excess of $3k and as a customer i feel my money has been well spent.
Ne'er had one drama.

This is the danger with the online world.. Everyone gets powerful and can talk about their ahit and feel safe... For every bad story there is 10-20 great stories that people can't be fucked sharing...

But like others have said up there, can we all please take this offline and not be keyboard warriors and go talk about it face to face, then and only then you can state facts online. As to me, sounds like you got pretty good customer service??

My 2c..

Getting back on track....

Ajay, can you confirm 2 things?

Timing belt?

China spec TD05-20g? Kato had asked and Mao answered it but your confirmation would, I think, solve alot if this heated discussion.

LOL @ deleted posts.

How off topic or inflammatory could they be?

Far out ladies.

Thread is about Ajay's car. Want to talk about workshops, take it to another thread. Anything else off topic will be deleted from this point forward.

So far the power issues seem to relate to timing and china turbo quality. It would be interesting to see what the turbo can do when the timing issue is corrected.

yeah agree with what joe said, critical to check, doublecheck, tripplecheck all timing marks when doing a timing belt, best to get them all lined up with the old belt, mark them, check marks on new belt line up & then go from there

china spec e-bay turbo's are cheap for a reason, you get the odd one here & there that will perform well but most are just rubbish

Yes i did have timing belt issues, but then i remembered someone told me dyco belts can be a pain to fit..but anyway

Before i dropped the motor in i turned and turned the motor until the marks line and shall be sweet..which they did line up..

Even checked the marks before the tune and they were still lining up correctly

Did you check the marks from the old belt matched upto the marks on the new belt?

The new dayco belt on my Impreza GX didn't have the same timing marks as the original OEM belt, I had to re-mark them to match the OEM marks.
