So engine has been pulled apart and has partially put back together.
Got the motor checked by the guys at South Sides as well as the heads being machined by them. ARP head studs are now holding everything down. At this point in time, I've decided against going with anything overly expensive so still running the original bottom end and ecu ect.

Received all my coolant hoses today as well and now just waiting on some GrpN Engine mounts to rock up mid-late next week. Will hopefully have the car back up and by next weekend and fingers crossed there aren't any more issues.

Also attached is a photo of the harmonic balancer the shat itself on the final drive i had with it... at the moment were just running a standard wrx one and ill look at a pulley kit soon.

Being optimistic, I should be out for motorsport activities in the not to distant future

So, the motor is back in and running! The car now has:
Grp N engine mounts
Competiton Clutch
Samco coolant hoses (doesnt fit overly nicely )
ARP headstuds
Gasket Kit
Standard STi Head gaskets

So we managed to get the motor back in the weekend before the cruise and it was turning over and just wouldn't start. Turned out the injectors weren't getting the pulse to fire so no start. After some tracking we worked out it was alarm related and i have had a similar issue before we took the motor out, so it was time for the Brant to leave and we have put a Cyclops alarm thanks to Steve at Dynamco.

But we managed to rip the Brant out completely for the weekend so i could take it for a drive. The other thing that we finally ripped off the car was vortex generator that was liquid nailed and silicon on but its destroyed the paint on the roof and Simon had a bunch of vinyl wrap laying around.

We decided that well wrap the roof... and we got a bit carried away and mucked around with what he had laying around, which ended up being the scheme that was on the car on Sunday.

The car ran faultlessly on Sunday, was happy to get on boost and go. The clutch is so much nicer that what was previously in there. Now just to get the R-comps on and do some track work which is what I originally bought the car for..

Cheers

Cheers Josh! I was learning how to do it when we put it on the car, didnt go to badly, and I can always rip it off when I want to. Front lip is on the cards, I want a new front bar as it has been hacked apart from when the car had a front mount on it and a lip will go on then.

Bit of an update, slowly getting the car more where I want it to, bought Mutch's MY11 STi rims and fitted them up this morning.
Also ripped the vinyl off as it started to fad, just leaving it on the roof to protect it for the time being.

Also currently working on getting a air box back in and running a quieter catted exhaust. Just money holding it up at the moment.

Hopefully will be back on the track around the end of this month or early next month

Might just be the wheel and tyre combination, but it appears to be sitting particularly high in that photo.

Stock struts and springs?
