Thread will not be locked. It may be something as silly as a wastegate being jammed and it spiked 18 Bar (wild claims). Or injectors that were gummed up and it leaned out.
No slander has occured as I see it thus far, although we all know who and what shops were involved. Fair bump, play on!

Cat, I didn't ignored your PM for closing this thread.
I don't see why it should be closed. I've seen worth thread where specific finger pointing, slander were made. There are a lot of lessons to be learnt here, not just for you but others who intend to do the same in future. All workshops involve will try to assist where reasonably practicable (that's my lawyer speak!), rather than avoid you like a plague. Their reputation can be damaged just as bad in other ways apart from a forum. This is obviously more than a case of bad luck as everything that could go wrong has gone wrong. There's no gain |

All we need is for someone to blame you for the dok dok......
So sorry to hear cat, that rattle has to be one of the most sickening sounds you'll hear right after getting your car back finally. Keep your chin up.

There is a thread about a Perth workshop tunning a GC8 with a bad AFM,
and now this thread of changing ECU without a tune. All very interesting. |

Alright, I was wrong about something.
I just managed to talk to asg and found out that the car arrived there running shit with the stock ecu, The power fc was on the passenger seat and was hooked up to the car to check if all sensors were working and they were, so the stock ecu was plugged back in and then it started running like a normal car again so it was taken back. The power fc was not fitted and if it was the wait for a tune would have been nearly 2 months so the stock ecu was probably left in because it started working well again and there was no time to fit the other. I just wanted to clear this up so people don't say incorrect information about this shop did this and that shop did that, when I got the car back there was a miscommunication and I thought they said a power fc was fitted but they meant it was only used to check all the sensors. By the way...... love the appropriate title change

That makes sense. The engine was just old and went boom after a night of thrashing.
