so big afternoon/night

Before Fletty came over to help I started on the braided brake system for the car. ABS is no longer in the car and as such a new system had to be arranged. -3 AN fittings and braid throughout with a brake bias adjuster. Can not thank Ivan enough from Go Gear. All the stuff sorted for me and at a great price.

When Fletty arrived we started ripping out the dash and all the looms... not fun...

We got a fair bit into it. Isolating the headlights, parkers, indicators for the front of the car. The interesting hting will be trying to hook it all back up to the stalk which i want to use...

FYI - fucking black duct tape on the look is bordering on outrageous.
Probably removed at least a KG of the Shit.

Good fun though. We will be going for a simplified version of the harness to run ancillaries now that a lot of the gear is the car is now redundant.

Basic idea is running a front main, then breaking it into a front rear sub mains. Then only running whatever triggers/switches we need between the 2 to make it all work.

Well the updates have been few and far between. Between work and actually working on the race car, the time to document it has been minimal.

The whole use the main lines and pick what was needed quickly got thrown in the bin. A full body harness and engine re-wire was created and it was quite possibly the greatest decision ever made. Through careful planning and going through everything 3 times the wire were run, the solder was melted and tape was rolled. Relays, switches etc were all redone, We tested it and it worked. All of it. The body stuff worked after a full re-wire.
The engine loom was next with deutsch connectors for bulk head wiring and literally laying the cable out to where they belong. Wired again and put it all back together. Engine was put in at some time and then we put it all back together. The injectors were cleaned and tested, put back in and fired first go… Love this car.
Have been doing things like scoop splitters, brake ducts, rolling guards… pretty much everything to get this car sorted. It was scrutineered on the weekend and apart from a few little things, passed. Tuning is occurring tomorrow with first race Saturday afternoon… very nervous but excited.

So here is a list of what the car now has and it’s a far cry from when we began. Also some photos of the journey!
