Titans are super light for a Rota, I had some 18x8.5 Titans on my Golf GTI and they were just over 8kg from memory.

More than likely a ring land as the smoke clears after the car warms up.
Still made 237kw/473nm of torque when they did the power run.

Gonna get some quotes together during the week and go from there. Tempting to drop another oem short block in there, ring its neck and hope I get another four years out of it.

You can't argue with OEM short blocks for quality, they are screwed together very well. The limiting factor is that 250kw / 500nm point where the fatality rate seems to spike.

I am tossing up a 257 short motor, lightly ported heads and cams to liven it up for when I finally kill my engine... I don't see the point in an all out build for my low power goals of 220kw (response > power), plus I am after the low oil usage, cold start quality and basic OEM reliability as my car would still be a daily.

What is the long term goal for the car; weekender, daily, track hack... all the above?

Why not just drop in some aftermarket pistons and bearings and headstuds. And re-use your existing donk. Block is probably fine bar a hone down the bores.

Goal is the limit of the turbo. And drop some more skids.

Agree with all that mate, what about rods? Surely the stockers would have copped a pounding with all the launches?
