Ha ha, I wish I could but I just don't have the facilities or the time.
Maybe when I get mine out of the way I might think about it but this is a hobby for me and right now I want to keep it that way.

Never say never though LOL

You definitely want to finish yours first and enjoy it for a while...then later see if you want to set up shop

So tomorrow the car gets dropped off at the shop for either fixing the gasket or for Nic to build some magic, depending on his findings/recommendations.

If I go down the path of a full build here is what I'm going to aim for:

-CP Pistons 100mm which is +.5mm from OEM
-Manley H-Tuff beams
-ARP Custom 625 head studs
-ARP Custom 625 rod bolts
-ACL Race or Cosworth, main crankshaft bearings and rod bearings
-08+ STi oil pump
-Cosworth Head gaskets
-Block bored and honed to suit pistons using a torque plate
-Block decked
-Heads and block machined

Maybes:
-BC 272 direct fit cams if I can fit it in the costs.
-Blouch and Injectors if there's any kind of coin left else will leave this for a later stage.

Can someone confirm if there's any benefit in going +.5mm on the pistons or should just stick to the 99.5 stock diameter? Any advantages 100mm vs 99.5? Assuming its safe to go up .5mm on the block without sleeves

If I stick to the 99.5 diameter it should bring down the cost a little as it doesn't require a torque plate bore and hone.

It depends on the state of the bores and whether they are out of round or not. 2.5's usually are.

Go 1st oversize on the pistons and make sure that the bores are honed to suit using a torque plate. 0.003" piston to wall clearance too.

You know my thoughts on this as discussed via PM. Get receipts for everything!!

CP do a 99.75 piston which would be the one I'd use.

CP Part Number SC7422 which has 8.2:1 CR

Thanks for pointing this one out - Just saw this on their catalogue, must be a newer release... safer for the block the less you bore out I guess.
I'll go for this one and will see what shop recommends too, shouldn't be much of a different recommendation.
