I hate the idea of FPR hoses being interupted just for wanky gauges. Last thing you want is to introduce a possible leak and lean out an engine.

I picked it off the generic Defi installation pic. (same as what came with my defi cluster) Dave. No offence intended buddy

It's the Defi Red Racer boost gauge with wiring diagram from the Defi install manual.
I referred to surge tank as it's shown on that defi diagram I picked, but in fact it is the manifold plenum that sits right next to the FPR as Rossco described. Where should I tap into the vacuum line then Russ? I've seen some install videos on the internet where they have the t-piece in the line that goes to the bypass valve, but that looks a bit dodgy. You got me worried now about having stuff in the fpr line.

As rossco said go tap into one of the random intake manifold vacuum lines. Much safer.

Check my old thread for pics. See that nipple with no hose attached to it. It comes straight off the manifold to the purge valve. That is where you want to splice your boost gauge hose into.

so put it in one of these?
the middle yellow circle is the tiny hose between the plenum and that round thing. I was thinking that first hose with the yellow circle (first one from left to right)? p.s: thats not my engine bay, random pic from net..My ms paint arrow drawing skills are shit I know

Yep either of those would be fine. I would go the one closest to the manifold though. That little black thing might dampen the reading?

Ok thanks mate.. I'll switch the T-piece from the FPR line to that line with the second yellow circle - in between the plenum and that black thing.
And return the fpr line to just a direct hose.
