Are you keeping the car long term? To me, it's a pretty big outlay if you are planning to sell the car within the next year or so. Unless you plan to take the system with you when you sell the car of course

I've decided I'm keeping the car for atleast another two years. I think I might have to go for a cheaper head unit. $2800 seems insane to me!

I got my Alpine AV Head Unit from JB when they were having their 30% off sale. Was less than $400 and has bluetooth, DVD, iphone connectivity etc and is touch screen. Might be worth buying the components seperately and just paying someone for the install.

Edit. this is the headunit

Just my two cents worth. Find out what works from Alberts then hit Jb for everything as most of the time it will be a ton cheaper, then just pay alberts to do the install.

Ha! Crazy money for a car stereo. Spend money on a home sound system where road noise isn't an issue!

I'm old.

I wouldn't pay someone to install it in my car if all you are doing is a new head unit. Full system most likely yes. A new head unit, tape/heat shrink, solder and soldering iron is all this needed 😊

I think I'll source the parts myself and get it installed by a professional as everyone says $2800 is outrageous!
I'll check out JB. Cheers guys!
