I have Burkes old Magna of Fury for times when i want to go somewhere and not take the work ute. 1993 4cyl Magna Wagon. Such a gem. It has literally cost me nothing except rego fees. Its a magical car that just keeps on going. It has less KMs on it than my work ute haha.

Well, finally pulled the old Carbon clutch out today. Ended up pulling the motor out to gain access only because I CBF doing a 6spd box on my own in my driveway again. Haha. And motor comes out pretty easy when its as modified a mine. Just a few silicon couplers and V bands off, radiator and coolant connections, fuel and electrics disconnected, then unbolt the box and out she comes.

Made a little video about the new/old Exedy clutchs for comparison. Interestingly, the Compe-D is even lighter than the Carbon-D.

Took the car down for a bit of a blat on whoop arse wednesday. No real prep for the drags at all. Still have rock hard rear suspension and crazy camber. And i havent re-conneccted the DCCD back up yet. But it managed flat 12 sec runs when i got away with a decent launch. And my KMH got over 191kmh on a few of tge runs. But getting a good launch was difficult. Car just wanted to spin the wheels, or simply not launch with enough ooomph.

No 11s. But i did beat Jakes best time by a few 100ths. (Untill he replaces his clutch.)

The car sounded fucking awesome going down the track. A number of times where you ran after me I wound the passenger window down on the return road just to hear it.

I was actually a bit dissapointed with the 60' times. The car was doing flat 1.8s 60's pretty consistently a couple of turbos ago. Im pretty certain if i actually tried making the car some what friendly to drag launching, it would come down further still. I was struggling for traction most of the time, or i had to dumb it right down off the line to get anywhere.

Remember ive got back-jarringly stiff rear suspension. Baller-spec camber angles. And i still havent got around to programming the ECU to handle DCCD control. So my center diff was at default with no locking.

Staunch time and speed, gotta be happy with that after building a car with no regard for drag racing.

Set your rebound to softest/fastest setting next time and see how it launches. Easy adjustment to make without having to pull shit apart.
