So car has finally been started. Absolutely zero issues when starting, fired up quickly and idled perfect. Was surprised considering the ampunt of vac lines missing and the fact the ecu was tuned for a different engine combo. Trying to source a twinscroll dumppipe atm as that is all that is holding me back from putting the rest of the enginebay back together.

Interior however has started to go back together. Still have door wirimg harnesses to splice and rear tail lights but everything else is working perfect

Twinscroll down pipe is done. Grabbed an Ultrex complete turbo back exhaust with cannon. They where 450buks, most places wanted 600buks for the twinscroll dump alone. I purchased one of those kinugawag twinscroll bellmouths awhile ago so the plan was to cut the standard bellmouth off the ultrex exhaust and weld on the new twinscroll bell mouth.

Was actually impressed with how well it went to plan. Cut the standard bell mouth off and it was just as simple as cutting a small amount off each time and checking till i could get the dump as high up under the car as possible without it hitting anything.

Id consider myself pretty handy on an ARC welder as i do it most days for work. However ive never mid welded stainless. These welds dont look too crash hot and it will be interesting to see how they last once heat cycled. May have to pull it all off and have it done proffessionally if it starts to crack but thats a problem for future Tony.

Ok so we have progressed a fair way. Interior is complete for now. Waiting on an 06 wrx alcantara retrimmed wheel to show up but pretty happy with how its turned out. Really happy I took the time to go through and refurbished everything before putting it in. This included re-dying the carpet and seats before installing them.

Engine bay is completely done, everything plummed up and nothing seems to be leaking.... yet.

All the lights, doors etc are spliced into the 03 wrx loom and working. Hardest part was getting the central locking to work. The gc8 door lock a tutor only has a single trigger system where as the 03 wrx has a double trigger system. All that needed to happen was wire in a relay to mimic the double trigger system of the gd setup but being switched by the gc8 single trigger which is a ground switched trigger.

Ended up getting some front brembo callipers and have colour matched them to the car along with the 03 wrx 2 pot rear callipers I already had installed on the car.

New wheels showed up. 17x8 +44 rota fighters in bronze with 225 AD08r tyres. The fronts are going to need a fair bit of camber and fender work to fit as I. Running the sti alu control arms which have increased the track a good 12mm or so which has made them poke abit more than desired.

Anyway pics

Hopefully able to take it for a lap around the block tomorrow minus the fenders, hood and front bumper. That's if i can sort out the high idle issue. The link g4 that I purchased second hand was tuned for an 02 sti with big cams etc. Car starts super easy however it will sit at 2700rpm for idle. I have not done any searching yet but I'm going to start in the link software. Any advice?
