Default Freshly tuned EJ20 TD05-18g - 200kw but LAGGY!

Hi All,

I tried a new tuner yesterday and i would like some feedback.

I am concerned with how laggy this is, full boost doesn't hit until 4500-4600.

Also, feels like a mad flat spot at 3000rpm +/- and then the turbo resets and starts spooling from 4K +

Supporting mods:

1000cc injectors
Kinaugawa TD05-18G 7cm w/ 9 Blade STS + billet wheel
EL headers
3" to 2.5 dump Exhaust.
AVO intake hose.
Standard airbox.
Larger TMIC + Silicone hose.
SSBC (EBC)
target boost 21psi
PowerFC

Dyno Graph attached.

Got a print out showing the KW & Torque curves together?

KW & boost doesn't mean much

Has this thing ever run right? Every thread you start is about this thing running like poo or hand-grenading.

@Rossco.

Unfortunately, this chart is all I have. I would like to see the Torque too

Yeah well I've had some bad luck, the car actually came from WA; it was in bad shape. Slowly trying to restore it whilst it being my daily driver.

Its running good now, but I feel like maybe the tuner was lazy.

Thus, I am complaining and wondering if there is anything I can do myself and is this normal? At 750-1k a pop tune, I am not going to go get another one immediately and yes I will ask the tuner tomorrow.

Ultimately, I am hoping someone with a similar setup can comment. telling me yes that turbo is this laggy or no, your tune is weak.

p.s for the record, I have also purchased goods and sold goods on Perth. No i am not a veteran like yourself. Your advice has always been spot on as well.

@Callis.

it is fun, but also not as much fun as I expected! I am seeing GT35R and similar spool faster.

btw just adjusted the gain setting on the EBC, it was half now max will test and compare etc

You need to understand that your issue could be caused by a combination of factors - which are impossible to diagnose over the net.

Chasing phantom issues just leads to wasted time & money. It could be the tune, it could be the Turbo, it could be a lazy boost controller or solenoid - it could be a multitude of other issues.
