Same, I've got 5.4 months of accrued sick leave.

Isn't that classed as advertising & promotions?

Without knowing how it's structured it would be more of a hobby.

So does that mean your one of those people who get a cold an soldier on...

Sharing the cold round to your fellow work mates! Sharing isn't always caring!

(Or are we talking about cough, cough sick days?)

Touch wood I don't seem to get particularly sick.

We have people that wait until they have a full sick day accumulate and then take the next Friday or Monday off work. I think they think we must be stupid.

The other one I love is those staff that take their annual leave throughout the year and then when we shut down at Christmas for 2 weeks want to work through because they haven't got any annual leave left.

That's a bit shit really. Why couldn't they work through Xmas as skeleton staff? Grass still grows doesn't it :-p

For me the above gas never been an issue. Turns out everyone wants their AC to work during summer lol

The maintenance and nursery staff work through. Its the construction guys that cant. There is no point them working. There are no contractors working, you cant get deliveries, the architects and superintendents all shut down.

Im sorry but I have no sympathy for them. Its the industry standard and has been that way for 40 + years. Its not a new thing that we have invented.

Most people would give their left nut to have 2 weeks off over Christmas.

That's true. Working in a service based environment for me, this period we have a choice Xmas or NYE off, rarely get both.

I the whole "industry standard" thing is crap now anyways.

I get it that if everyone else shuts down, others can't work but surely from a management point of view you can shuffle them into a maintenace role for 2 weeks to keep them happy if they wanted it.
