Lazy workers.... We have one works for us, always wants the patrol run with the least amount of clients or alarm probability.. If he doesn't get that, then he purposely slows down so we have to cover his slack... One day they'll work his gig out and fire him, don't like the short term probability of that though.

I have found out recently that slow lazy workers are a necessary evil
although they don't do the work of someone with average ability and they seem to get paid more than I do. Since they have all been with the company 20 years they are simply unemployable by anyone else. As such I now treat them as pressure valves. They are a known quantity. They will do x amount of work in x amount of time. While I may bitch and complain about it. Lazy and almost incompetent they stop myself and the other workers from being overloaded. Interestingly, they can often be heard to be complaining about change and or bitching loudest about how other people don't work. I think i need to go work for an oil/gas giant. |

Deffinatly true for this lady now... She wasn't to bad until her probation time ran out... Now rather then ask what she should do about something or use common sense she either does nothing or trys to push it off to some other poor bastard in the office which is not there responsibility.

We had a guy work for us up in Port Hedland through a temp agency. Anyways the job finished and he left. No animosity etc. His last day was 2nd July. Anyways we get the monthly invoice through from the employment agency today and this guy has been submitting a timesheet every week since 2/7/10. Forged signature so he has been getting paid. So far the employment agency has paid him something like $12k. The agency has already said we are not liable and the poilce are involved but one would have to wonder that this is not the first time he has done it.
