Currently at work in the pilbara. Right on the edge of where cyclone heidi is and we are copping non stop heavy rain.

About 3hrs ago the road in and out of site was a metre deep so the decision was made to evacuate the mine site and send everyone back to camp.

Great, but they forgot about the dirty contractors down at the lab. I only just found out about it 5 minutes ago while getting ready to knock off. So now myself and three others are stuck on site, until the water recedes.


Given that it's still pissing down rain and the forcast is more heavy rain for the next three days, there is a strong possibility we could be here until monday. FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUCCCCCCK

At least we have food. Which is frozen and we may lose power shortly.

If you did that from time to time it wouldn't bother me and I would most likely join in.
However, if you did it all the time or at least a good 3 to 4 hours of the day, then sparks would fly.
Having a rather technical job in an open planned office is hard enough and normally I can mitigate any external noise by using headphones and listening to something.
Unfortunately there are times where you can't really listen to anything and concentrate at the same time.
I get paid like most people at my work place to sit down and actually do work, not yap on about what you and the girlfriends did on the weekend or what you think of you're best mates new boyfriend, etc.
