You get a wage to do what ever the boss asks you to do. Have you stopped to consider maybe the boss had faith in your ability and thought the Apprentices may f*ck it up? Maybe the boss is just out to piss you off. I hate employees who think they are better than anyone else in the company. No one is, not even the boss.

At the end of the day, I support your theory of "this is where I vent cause this is what it is for". But that in turn means I support people giving you shit cause they are "just venting their frustration too"...

Fair call man, but with any job, you are expected to help out the company in any way possible, even if you are not familiar with that particular role, at the end of the day, you get paid a wage, and if the boss assigns you a job or task to do, you get it done.

It is the same in any industry, I mean even at Coles!

I get called to work every department there, many of which I am actually not trained in, and also many of which I don't like. But at the end of the day, the boss says jump, you say how high?

Its the chain of command, and until you are the one telling people to jump through hoops while you lounge back on your Italian leather reclining office chair, then we just get used to it. I could go on for hours about some of the shit jobs the manager has made me do, but that's not the point.

Its good to get experience in different "departments" weather it's parts or customer service, it just gives you more experience and a different perspective of the job.

All in all, more experience in different roles will always help you out, no matter what industry you work in.
