I wouldn't mind if retailers had eftpos, but charged the cost to run the device to those people using it.

Cost to use eftpos for sub $10 transactions is amazingly high.

Also you will end up with the check out chicks raging over having to wait for you to pull out your wallet, then pull out your card, then enter a pin etc etc removing valuable seconds from their lives.

When I was over for work last time I had to find one nights accomodation in some random caravan park due to 'the ruggerz' because work didn't want to fork out for rugbytax

5 nights in a Brisbane hotel, $140 a night except for one which was $960 a night. For the same room.

This is it... I don't give a f*ck if I pay an extra $0.50 per transaction just so I don't need to track down an ATM (Usually there is NEVER one for my actual Bank near by) so it costs me at least $2.00 penalty and my time.

Burke, never carry cash in my wallet.. it's annoying so I will just avoid going anywhere that is cash only. This includes paying personal trainers in cash... give me TT any day so I can write random mesasges as the transaction description. I.E "Batman Costume".

In New Zealand they even have parking metres that let you SMS them to pay for your parking.. so no need for annoying change.
