It's not about whether they own vehicles, it's about whether they're paying to use the roads. I have four cars, I need to pay for each one to use them on the roadways. I can't pay rego on one and then drive another. Why is it any different for a bicycle when they're expecting to be treated with the same courtesy you would give other motorists but have no intention of paying to use the roadway.

You will find most cyclists do own a vehicle and do, like you and I, pay registration. They just choose to utilize a healthier or more efficient form of transport to get to and from work. Sure there are some fuckwits on two wheels, but there are far less fuckwits on two wheels than four on our roads.

You're missing the point. For EVERY vehicle I choose to use on the roads I have to pay registration for each one. Personally I wouldn't have a problem with any cyclist who rides on the roads if they were paying to be there. Paying rego on your car and then riding your bicycle and saying that you are paying for your car doesn't mean shit, because it's not the vehicle you're currently using.

A 23-28mm road bike tyre doesn't cause the wear and tear on our roads at the same rate motor vehicles do. They don't pollute. They don't cause as many accidents and thus third party injury claims. It's not about accidents or wear and tear, etc, it's about the use of a system you're not paying for but expecting to be treated the same as those that are. I think most cyclists have their head in the sand about it, and consider themselves to have the exact same rights as those paying to use the roadways, but you're right the argument has been played out many times, we'll simply have to disagree.

LOL, I'm not complaining about paying registration for them. I'm stating that if I wish to use one on the roadway I have to keep my registration valid... Unlike a cyclist. Are you a cyclist?
