Phew. Sounds like I have been quite lucky. Got my invidia exhaust and headers on different orders and no problems at all. Also got some other bits and no delays beyond maybe 2-3 days.

Bram. Will be interesting to compare your dom2.5 to my mamba gtx3076r. They should be quite similar. What AR did you go for?

Blouch are notoriously bad at supplying turbo data on thier turbos. You kinda just have to look around and see what sort of results other people get with similar setups, and hope for the best when buying a Blouch. They dont specify the A/R, So I dont actually know the A/R of the turbo.

But the turbo i ordered is a DOM 2.5XTR with 10cm^2 turbine housing and 3inch compressor housing.

This is the Blouch description of the turbo.

Also hard to compare turbos between brands using the A/R as its just a ratio at the end of the day. Might be the same ratio but they may go about it differently if you know what i mean.

Agree. It is also a case of cheaper options versus a well respected brand. I don't have any ego....I just want to see how they compare because based on turbine and compressor wheels sizes they are a pretty close match.

Will be interested to see how that big backside...no pun intended... goes.

Just looked at the specs. The 2.5 is closer to a gtx3071r. I suspect that the big inlet and big hot side housing will help it punch above its weight though.

A great choice.

Thinking more about this A/R ratio versus blouch's description of housing size.... Area ratio is a relationship between the area within the nozzle divided by the radius at that point to the centre of the turbine. (I will ignore compressors. )

It is hard to work out direct comparisons but I would expect 0.64 to be either an 8 or a 9cm. I don't know where blouch take their measurements from.

Big AR or big turbine housing sizes help top end power with a trade off against spool and low rpm torque.

Others will know heaps more I am sure...

10cm^2 turbine housing is the size the DOM2.5xtr is meant to be. They do offer an 8cm^2 option, but 10cm^2 is what they designed the turbo for. Going 8cm^2 increases the spool slightly, but chokes the exhaust and you lose top end. Look at RJ, he went with 8cm2 IIRC.

The 3in inlet, forged billet CNC'd comp wheel, and ball bearing CHRA all increase spool.

I think the DOM 2.5 is great match for a mild built 2.5L. I would expect close to 400whp and full boost by 4k RPM on my setup. I was tossing up going a DOM3 aswell, but the 2.5 seamed to do what i wanted. I went with Blouch as I have an old TD05-18GXT from them and its an awesome turbo. Blouch have a hefty price tag, but they make some kickarse turbos.

Bram Lol
Full boost by 4krpm on a 10cm blouch 2.5, dreaming imo...you're not the first foz/wrx to put a 10cm blouch 2.5 in hey, see usaDave's for example.
10cm 2.5xtrs are very laggy, but maybe the 3" inlet will help bring it to 4-4.5k rpm, keen to see what it does on yours.

IMO for what you're trying to do you should have gone for the Dom 3, spools faster than the 2.5 with 10cm being dual BB and also makes more power.

It would be cool if Bram lent his 10cm houseing to RJ so we can get an exact comparison done, same car, same mods, only difference being the houseing.
