Bram, did your turbine wheel come with the fancy new nut? (I assume it helps minimize turbulence)

Red wheels look awesome. Shame it won't be seen again.

Found an interesting link...after a lot of looking.... That compares the Garrett area/ratio rating to the Mitsubishi IHI cm squared rating. Blouch uses the cm2 rating.

Check this out for comparison purposes. http://turbolabofamerica.com/turbine-housings/

Effectively my 0.64 A/R turbo is equivalent to a 9cm2. 10cm is 0.73 and 11cm is the common 0.82a/r.

This has always annoyed me in being able to compare turbos...just to bring relevance back to the forum.

Doesn't look like its right imo, does it not depend on turbo compressor wheel and blade design as well to determine the a/r together with the housing.

There is another thread somewhere on naisoc/iwsti that measures and compares the exact a/r of each turbo, will have a look for it and share if I can find it again.

Edit: no luck, will keep looking.

Default Things that shit me V7.0

Took me ages to find stuff too but my comments only relate to turbine or hot side as the compressor doesn't have as much of an impact.

I had expected that 0.64 a/r would be about 8 cm2. Kind of pleased that it is bigger. Stops me having Blouch envy!! The proof will be when I fire up the engine in a few weeks time.

A friend has a very similar sized turbo in many ways but with a 8cm or 0.55 AR. Apart from the differences in his build we may get to see some of the characteristics of the smaller turbine housing when get gets that running too around the same time as mine. Won't be directly comparable as too many engine parts are also different.

Things that shit me...

When people start the conversation with "In the UK...."

I have no interest, and no way of knowing if what you're saying is true or made up since we're not in the UK.
