Seriously though....when will people learn that HID's in non-projector lights are not cool?

I'm fitting my HID's this week....BUT they are factory STi projector HID's with levelling motors, so I know they are going to look and work great :)

daveygravey 29-08-2008 05:07 PM

my HID's are pretty good... just a a shame my lights keep leaking!! think mine are 6000

TopGear 29-08-2008 05:23 PM

mine work fine, and the light is much better then the standard globes mine are 4300 which is like white light, Im prety certain the different rating is just the colour temp of the light not meaning its more powerfull, just like white balance in a camera :p

NVRENUF 29-08-2008 06:04 PM

yeah the lumens do vary the power

the higher number you go the more blue it gets the less light power you actually have

Mister Two 29-08-2008 06:21 PM

Lumens is a measure of Light output. The higher the Lumens, the brighter the light is.

Kelvin is a measure of Colour Temperature. The higher the Kelvin, the closer the light colour is to violet.

I always went of this chart showing the power out puts compared to the lumens.

which is showing the higher the lumens the less out put your getting

I see a different Temp light, cooler or warmer, that doesnt mean that its putting out more power, like midday is the brightest but it isnt as cold as tungstun etcm which is bluer.
