Its got nothing to do with being uncool, its about blinding other road users. You WILL get better performance out of a good halogen bulb in your halogen housing.
I take your post deeply into consideration. The first night i took the car out after installing i thought these aren't that good, and i got high beamed twice.

After thought for the next day, waited til the next night, lined my missus satria gti up ( slightly the same height) and my impreza up, and set mine exactly the same, to the same side throwing out as well. Since then i have had no high beaming, and have had it passed when pulled over for a "random car inspection".

What halogen globes do you recommend ? i am all keen for trying anything, i do a bit of highway driving ( missus parents live in Busselton, we drive home by the highway when we come home from bunbury to our house), and i have found the HIDS are great for sign lightage and seeing on the sides, they pick up pieces of glass and eyes on the side of the road quite well.

yeah mine seem fine, I look in peoples rear view mirror when coming up behind them and it doesnt seem to shine in there mirror, also I get blinded by the cars that have HIDs stock so I dont really see the problem lol.

yeah i see stock 4wheel drives with hids and they are blinding

i figure as long as you adjust them to the right hight as they dont blind people should be ok.

Hey Will did you just put hid globes in the standard sti ballasts? Or did you upgrade the whole lot?

NVRENUF 31-08-2008 08:14 PM

globes plug right into the stock sti housing.

Will they be projected correctly, or will the light scatter?

NVRENUF 01-09-2008 05:49 PM

light will scatter to some degree. Becuase houseing isnt designed for it
SAying that make sure the level is down out of peoples eyes and i havnt seen a drama

Bakks 01-09-2008 06:10 PM

02 STi has projector headlights so not a problem.

6050king 08-09-2008 06:06 PM

So you can just buy the bulbs and they screw straight into a 02?

NVRENUF 08-09-2008 06:52 PM

Yeah mate Bugeye should be a H4 from memory.

But you need ballest the whole kit but yes plug and play.
