different HID kits
 

hey im just wondering if the difference in like say 8000k and 6000k HID kits are to do with the globes? or the actual kit? or could i get a set of 8000k globes and put them in my kit which has say 6000k globes in them say? hope this makes sence im not really sure how they work like that?

Pretty sure different hid bulbs are different colour temps? I have 8000k i think, but reckon i could put another colour in though if i wanted, would just have to swap them over?

anything over 6000k, it gets to bluish, which is illegal

but for HID kits, you can swap different globes
the ballast is not globe dependent

so if i took one of my globes out it would say if it was a 6000 or an 8000?

i think you'll be able to tell by the colour

wow is that site expencive or is that just me? like $650 for 6000k set wow thought they wer like $200ish

even china specs are not same same

The ballast are the same, they only differ for 35watt or 55watt.

The globes are what change in colour temp.

You can change out the globes for different colour temps at any time and keep the same ballasts installed.

4300k is OEM standard of BMW, Audi etc that come with HID lights. It is white with a slight yellow hue

5000k is white

6000k is white with a slight blue hue

above 6000k is usually illegal

8000k is blue

10,000k is a slight green

12,000k is Purple

The higher you go in colour temp, the less actual light output (measured in lumens) from the kit, so 4300k actually puts out the most light. I always recommend 4300 - 6000k only and 35watt for low and only 55watt for (single beam) high beam or spot lights.
