HBF have this on their we site:

Please be assured that the standard HBF policy does cover flood, hail and storm damage for both car and home insurance, subject to the excesses and conditions of your own policy.

So it looks like we are covered.

also not sure if anyone here will need it but Western Power reimburse you $80 for extended outtages over 12 hours....to basically help cover the cost of replacing food that is spoilt....only reason i know bout this is cos i used to work for the section that deals with these claims. it is called extended outtage claim if you have to search for it

Feel sorry for everyone who got caught up and got their cars transformed into golf balls. Luckily my car is getting the other dings pulled out:-)

My poor car was only hit on the bonnet and roof by the hail, nothing major. However the tree that smashed into the back of it caused some pretty serious damage to the back end
Thank god I'm covered with RAC, excess is around $1100 but it could be a lot worse I guess!

The car claims are going to be huge. Just driving to work you can see how many cars are damaged by hail.

The wait times are going to be huge as well. T&R Prestige can get my car in for the rear bumper in the 2nd week of May.

Couldn't see really but if they were outside( which I don't think they are kept out) then they would have been fair game. I saw Audi had the 911 turbo parked out the front. Dings a plenty:-)
