The government will do well out of this with every new vehicle subject to GST, & both new & second vehicles subject to stamp duty.

Same here dude. Anyone else dealing with hbf?

The mrs is with hbf and just a news letting (which im guessing other members with hbf have gotten) describing the long wait she maybe in for as claims are banking up and sh!t.

Her car is going in to be assesed on the 14th of may

She has a '98 wrx few mods and is insured for $14000.
Reception told her, her car will probably be a write off as its not worth fixing, BUT, its all up to the assesor.

If you go to assessment centre on saturday at 62 Grogan rd, at the international airport they can assess it there. I went last Saturday at about 0700am. It wasn't due to start untill 0800 however they were bringing vehicles in earlier.

I'm in a similar situation, but not with my insurer.. its the panel beater who hasn't submitted my quote to the insurer yet!

My insurer is waiting for the quote.. they're super keen to assess it, the assessor has called me twice now asking where the quote is!

Joe, I got my assessor to email me the quote directly when they sent it to HBF and I forwarded the quote to my insurance company as well because they claimed they didnt get it from my panel beater when i know they did because I was CC'd in. was a huge fark around.

FYI for HBF people 08 92656402 - direct car claim line so you dont have to go through all the prompt crap..

I have been advised that my car will be repaired 16K repair bill vs 25k payout guess i know which one weighs up better :P however thats pending parts and at the moment my panel beater is not available until August even if all parts were available. sigh.

I hope you get a loan car because it'll be off the road for weeks.

Guess I must be one of the lucky ones

Got a really dumb phone call from my panel beater on Saturday - would you like to pick your car up? I mean how dumb could he be

Seriuosly though - I nagged Allianaz for two days (read phoning up every two hours till they agreed to send the assessor round to the panel beaters and they approved the quote straight away. Nearly a month later I get my car back looking and smelling like brand new

Hope everyone else gets theirs fixed soon

Cheers
