use the ultimate compound mate works a treat to get rid of swirl marks

the swirl x basically fills in the swirl marks and next time you wash the car the swirls are visible again

Nothing beats proper carnuba wax, this i've learnt from people who own and restore classic Aussie muscle, eg. XY's, Monaro's, etc. Only real way to protect paint.

To be honest I'd be hesitant to remove swirls yourself unless you know what you're doing, better off to pay someone to do it now & the just protect the paint so it doesn't need further treatment down the track.

I know a few people in Perth who are excellent at it, PM me if you want their number.
