Default Two options :)

Hi guys and girls,

New to the Rex community and Perth, and wanted to pick your brains!

I have a peanut wrx in red which I am considering two options for the bodywork.

Option 1 - seibon carbon - hood, roof, bonnet, front lip, rear lip and side skirts with the rest red. Sort of a carbon bordered car. I am aware of the negligible weight savings with the carbon overlay on fiberglass, just like the look.
Only problem with this is I have to clear coat all the parts to ensure longevity.
This would be 4500 delivered, not sure how much for clear coat and fitting.

Option 2 - duraflex Gt wide body complete kit.
http://www.duraflexbodykits.com/0405...y-p-13521.html
Can get this for 3500 delivered. But not sure how much paint and fitting will cost.

Anyone have any experience with either of these options?
What would look the best?
Anyone got a ballpark on paint and fitting for both?

Cheers folks!

Hope to see you around.

Jeff

Tino would be able to give you a rough idea on fitting and paint costs but that is one ugly kit man (I'd assume more then purchase cost.)

Are you aware of the illegalities of carbon products on a vehicle though? The only real killer in installing with the carbon parts will be the roof as the rest will pretty much be remove a few bolts/add a few bolts and replace.

Isn't there a legal concern with having carbon fibre bonnets?
Splinters rather than crumbles?

yes, it's illegal to have carbon bonnet as it jepordizes the structural integrity of the car

If I were you and I had to pick one of the options, I would definitely pick the first one. That body kit is hideous in my opinion..... that's my personal preference anyway....

If you are deadset keen on the carbon fibre, just for the looks then scratch the idea of real carbon fibre and look into a Vinyl Carbon fibre, you can wrap all the parts of your car that you want with the CF look and can't get into trouble.... well pretty much it isn't real CF

if you wanted a nice carbon fibre rear wing I would look into a S202 spoiler... a good friend of mine "riceman1991" has some pictures of his red peanut with that wing on... have a look
