Hello Emjay,

Take it from me personally, don't use any carbon fibre wrap, used it, took bulk shit from people, then pulled it all off. Took some advice from the people here.... The "Clean" look is the way to go and "cheap" never works either. I agree as it makes the car easier if/when you come to sell. I did however end buying a genuine carbon fibre bonnet scoop and side vents for my car from JP Carbon (I've adjusted the link to suit your model)

http://jpcarbon.com/Impreza-2004-200...aspx?sid=24176

I also kept the original parts so you have the choice to revert back if you feel the need, or sell the aftermarket parts for some extra cash if you sell the car.

As for the front lip, i would definitely go with abs plastic, or any other plastic first before carbon fibre as it will crack after being repeatedly smashed/scratched against the floor (not saying you wouldn't be careful though)

Also gauges are a good choice Defi are very expensive, but i have never heard anything bad about them If you are just after the look and are not relying on accurate readings you could always go generic or use a cheaper brand, also for your model of car there is a few triple gauge docks on eBay for the centre console (where the clock is)

Personally i would drop the vortex generator though, just my opinion but i don't think they look to flash.

I have the same model as you, just bought and fitted a front lip in flat black, makes the car look 100% better. Easy to put on too, took me all of 15 minutes. As for the vortex generator, I personally think they look better on an evo than on a wrx. But that's my opinion.

As for the scoop, I reckon a repaint would be best. That whole black panels/wrapping thing is both good and bad. I was thinking black scoop as mine is a silver peanut, combined with a black lip and such it may work, but with World rally blue, I'm not so sure.

For now, I'd look at a respray/trying to source another one from a same colour STI.

Emjay,

JP Carbon does have a carbon fibre triple gauge pod, if you want to go down that road. You could buy the scoop and gauge pod together, so when you look at the front of your car you can see the gauge pod though the windscreen, and will match the scoop just an option. Or you could match the interior of the car to the gauge pod and just buy the bonnet scoop in carbon fibre just keep the original if you want to get it re-sprayed at a later date.

Also saving up for defi gauges is a great choice, i wish they made a triple gauge pod for my model i would buy them as well

Yeah! Girls gotta show what her mumma gave her right?

In other news, mods best bang for buck for GD's I think are
Lower springs - I found progressive rate ones awesome.
Thinker rear sway bar with HD mount kit and end links - car will actually turn into a corner without the wallowing.
Sticky tyres and good quality brakes transform a car.

Turbo back exhaust for the rumble
Reflashed ecu to sort out the doughy midrange :-)

Cosmetically - front lip, sweet rims, mudflaps and a Perth wrx sticker :-)
