I think I would now rather 17 or 18x8.

Would either a 215/35r18 or 225/40r18 be suitable ?

Have a look at this, it gives you an idea of how they might fit in relation to what you have and what you may get.

Thanks mate. That helped heaps. So it looks like the perfect set up would be 18x8 +48 with 225/35r18 tyres

225/40r18 is too big and will put your rolling diameter out. 215/35r18 is the closest to stock rolling diameter for gc8.

18x8.5+35 is what i have, can confrim you will need guards rolled and decent amount of camber to fit them inside the guards
