20's on Sti ? people will roast you here (for good reason)......You will need to run a stretch setup with elastic bands spec for profile tires.

Id stick to 18's just wider rim or chunkier tires and more low.

Yeah just use a 40 or 45 profile tyre, or go bigger. I have 245/40 on mine, and they give me plenty of clearance and mine are flush very small gap.

Ok good to know....I'll stick to 18's then, just looking to fill the arch gap without scraping on every little bump.

Out of curiosity, why would people roast me for 20's? Any specific reason?

Safety, ruining your car's handling plus the hella flush, stretch, guard pump, massive chamber you will to need to run not mention the lack of side wall you will have on tires.

You're altering your rotational mass of your stock set up making it hard to get tires to fit with out all that shit above ^ and being safe. Also making your brakes work harder for no reason then looks and can fail if you dont keep in the 3precent rolling diameter variation. 1010 tires has a calc.

This forum is very performance and functional orientated FYI.

For reference this is how small your side wall on tires will be /20/ if not smaller

Going lower is all well and good but then the car becomes impractical with next to no ground clearance.
And it seems bigger wheels mess with other things.

Does a smaller side wall matter if I'm just road driving to and from work and the city? It's never driven hard or 'raced' and certainly isn't going anywhere near a track.

Increase wear, road noise, harness, increase chance of blowouts not mention and you can literally curb them on anything and you hit pothole you're fucked.

End of the day run what ever you'd like its your car.

Any one fitted any 18x10 +18s to an MY15 WRX STI. Want to get a set of works wheels but not sure how much i will need to mod the guards.

Only available offset in that width?

Closest that I could find to those specs, I did find one mention on NASIOC about fitting that specification and it looks like it would most likely need a roll/pull and crazy/stretched tyres to fit.
