We have already perfected the DBW tuning btw.

Not sure what u mean. Area under curve at wot rpm and load?

Which range of cells are u referring to?

I think he means in general, throughout the RPM ranges.

Lots of torque and power throughout and no deadspots/visual lag?

To answer in general this Forester just pulls hard like no tmr.

In retrospect, every driver n road/track condition is different. So tuning should be fine tuned to various conditions or needs and driving styles.

Hey Mao,

Thanks for making this happen, I was quite worried on Wednesday...

I can appreciate how painful it is when things don't go to plan!

I'm looking forward to the drive home, looks like about 25% more power and nearly 15% torque than our old Rex, should be a tidy 'sleeper'.

Cheers,

Ross.

Of course it is. Won't be playing around on a 130k Dynapack.

When a customer spends his hard earned money on a tune, u can bet on it that the tune will be taken seriously.

O.K. just a quick reply now I have had the chance to drive it. Third gear acceleration from 70 kph is pretty brutal. Power delivery is smooth, once it hits 3k rpm, it starts working. The 02 Bug-eye wagon we had with TBE, intercooler, pump, injectors, intake and custom MRT tune (ready for, but sold before turbo upgrade) would have no chance. Yes it's 2.0 vs 2.5 and turbo upgrade, but not in the same ball park.

Thanks again Mao, simple package with great results.

Recent Apexi Power FC install and tune on a MY00 GC8.

Vehicle was stock, except for the FMIC, Apexi AVC-R, Apexi Air Filter and 3" TBE. Vehicle also came in with larger injectors that killed the power on this vehicle as can be seen in the power run before tune. Power was at around 135hp and 153Nm at the wheels @1bar. Initial AFRs were shockingly in the 8s and 9s depicted our HKS Knock Amp. Correcting the AFRs brought the power back up instantly.

After the install of the Apexi Power FC, vehicle hit 220hp and 283.7Nm of Torque @1bar. We could only hit 1.06bar max at 4600-5600RPM, while the Apexi AVC-R did a good job of holding the boost flat. A larger turbo with better actuator is needed in this case. Torque was slightly low at 283.7Nm as boost was only @1 bar. We did not go for more timing as the turbine was not pumping enough air.

Overall, good gains were had improvements of over 150Nm and 85hp @WOT and overall driveability was improved through the rev and throttle ranges. A slightly bigger turbo would give this vehicle a lot more gains, with added ignition advance.

Comparison before and after Apexi Power FC Install and tune:

Boost Curve after tune. Bigger turbine pump is needed:
