400Nm and hp was SAE corrected at the hubs, not at the flywheel. AFRs were good, while timing was kept very safe.

The engine did not want more timing and we did not want to push it any further. Control using flash tuning is not 100% unlike Motec or Vipec where the software actually tells you where you are on the map.

Flash tuning is limited to datalogging. We do not want to dalalog, while inducing knock, which in this case the HKS knock amp was indicating knock when we advanced the timing just a bit. So pulling back timing, while not going excessively rich in mixture was deemed the better direction to go.

Edit: For the benefit of the others who do not understand what we are talking about, look at the hp graph flattening towards the end instead of heading steadily upwards. Timing and boost was pulled back towards the end to protect the engine from detonation.

I think Robs going back for a tune soon, I need to do a few more modifications then it ready to go.

Flash Tune on GD WRX with brand new Genuine VF34 and Genuine Walbro Fuel Pump.

VF34:

Vehicle came in with 185hp as can be seen on the chart. Results were awesome and power was smooth all the way to 268hp, a gain of 83hp from the flash tune. Torque could have been better with a smoother boost curve via an upgraded turbo actuator.

Mao, did you get a chance to weigh that VF34 before you put it on the car? I have one here and I'm not sure its genuine.

Trying to make a pt here with general reference. We have seen many vehicles with cheap Chinese made pumps and turbos and am telling ppl to steer clear.

But if u must know, yes there are a lot of copies out there. Serial numbers are your best bet to verify with IHI. I couldn't even walk into Subaru and get hold of a VF34 off the shelf locally in Japan, but outside JDM it is widely avail.

Edit: Jester PM me your serial number and I can send it off to our Japanese office and verify it for ya.

Another flash done today on a GD WRX with just Blitz NUR Spec R exhaust and Apexi air filter kit, with no other mods.

Vehicle came in with poor driveability and also a knocking CEL due to previous owner removing the exhaust, turbo, CAI and larger injectors, but not reflashing accordingly.

Boost was kept at just 1.05bar and the result was 234hp and a torquey 383NM at the wheels @4100rpm/15.5 Psi of boost.
