Well its pretty much exactly what happened?

Except it was Turn 1 not sector 1.

Vettel's result was amazing, however his drive less so. Despite being raped on Saturday with that penalty the guy just seems to fall arse-backwards into luck consistently. Not trying to take anything away - he was extremely quick - but it has to be said a large part of the reason he finished where he did was due to the fact he pitted early (which itself was the result of two 'at fault' accidents) and that just turned out to be optimum. Then add half the rest of the field ahead of him driving into each other or grenading engines, two perfectly timed safety cars and hey presto! Podium.

Still, he was fast when he needed to be.

Still happy for Kimi, gutted for Lewis, who once again exposed just how shit Button is.

You cant deny his overtakes (bar one where he lost half his front wing) where pretty good. He made alot very easily. I mean he went from 14th to 9th in a couple of laps. Passing quality drivers etc.

I hate that he is so good but i love watching his racing.

Yes and no -

-Hit Senna trying to pass him
-Tried to overtake Grosjean all 4 wheels off the track.

-Perez, Massa, Di Resta, Rosberg, Hulkenburg all his incidents that got them out of the way
-Schumacher pitted just before he was caught
-Webber was moved out of his way
-Both Torro Rossos simply moved over.
-Got past Malda and Kobi in the pitstop stage in free air, no actual track pass
-Lewis went bang.

I still grant that he drove a really good race though, fast the whole way through, but his best stroke of luck was banging the DRS sign. Meant he had to pit for wing, and rubber.

He also had the luxury of changning his car so he could be fast on the straights - he was maxing out at 322 - 10kmh more than his fp1/2/3/quali speed.

He only really had to fight Button, but did that pretty well.

Not interesting in starting an epic argument, but people rage on Button all over the Internet...i don't get the hate i think he is a solid driver.

Totally agree with all of this. He raced well and did make some very nice overtakes but f#ck me did things seem to fall in his lap like you wouldnt believe!! Good to see/hear Kimi win, his chats to his team were gold!

Button on sky after the race "the car needs more pace" ... Umm your team mate was on pole and walking the field...button has never lapped lewis on pace alone. Qualifying is 15-3!
