All i can say is, this year's racing as been incredible....very entertaining season....as long as Vettel doesn't take the WDC.
RUSSGT and Top-Deck like this.

with regard to driver abilities, unfortunately due to the concord agreement we can never see the top drivers in design freeze and identical machinery. they are trying to kerb advancements via the resources restriction also and doesnt appear to be working.

for me the best way to prove the best driver would have been a cart blanche design car, same tyres, same fuel load , same engine, 5 of your best laps and away you go and no aero tuning allowed. unfortunetaly the closest they get to that is The Race of Champions.

another strange thing i noticed recently too is that both Hammy and Button were the only top drivers to not attend the Mugello tests and strangely enough are no longer in WDC contention. Maybe there is a lesson to be learnt there. Granted all the bad luck in the world cant be mitigated against with practice but it wouldnt have hurt.

What about the Top-Gear reasonably priced car challenge??

Yeah agreed with the equal machinery idea....

I mean, as it is, F1 is an entertaining spectacle partly due the politics and the backgrounds of the different teams etc, but as someone passionate about the sport, it would be great to see them battle it out in the same car.

It's the same at local race meets etc...some guys ripping it up in stock MX5's etc...with times not far off guys with 300hp etc.....interesting idea...to me anyway.

de-ja-vu all over again???
Groundhog day?

looks like Vettel is back to what he does well. will any change hold this guy back?

and FFS Marks KERS woes appear to be resurfacing yet again.

maybe the KERS is made by Marelli also?

Hammy seems to have had a brain fade again while hunting down Mark. if he only shut the hell up and stayed positive. he was chipping away into the DRS then started locking up, not long after saying he couldnt catch Mark. the Mclaren should have had it over the Bulls on that circuit but not the case. its like he convinces himself the worst result. if he kept his head am sure wh would have scalped Mark, but not so.

i found interesting that the team can actually disable and then enable Marks KERS remotely. not sure if it was a play on words when Horner stated returning the KERS in a reduced power state, with Marks interaction or without?

it was good race and a good start by Mark for once, a shame the toys werent all working.

Actually, he didn't qualify at all, but he is permitted to start from the back of the grid.

i think this will show vettels talent tonight.
last on the grid at a track that is notoriously hard to pass at.
i wouldnt be surprised to see him storm back up the grid in the first couple of laps.
lets hope webber doesnt choke!

This is awesome. I was already happy that Webber out qualified him last night...but to wake up to this news is bliss.

Just need webber & Alonso to get a good start, then hamilton do something stupid to take out Alonso when he is defending an overtake..

Webber for 1st.
Ricciardo 7th..
Vettel anywhere below 10th.. (Do hope he pulls off some talented driving to get to 11th)
Alonso dnf..
Hamburg dnf..
The rest don't care..

Gets the championship alive again..
