I see trucks carrying 5 or 6 new car's usually every day going through the city to get to the East Perth pits. The fact that most of the time they are Hyundai's and Mitsubishi's I would assume they are coming from John Hughes.

New cars from dealers tend to get it alot easier, thats first hand from friends in the industry... ie hey mate how are ya, flash this flash that yeah shes done let me go do the paperwork.

A modified import will cop a full inspection... Liberty took 3 hours to do at East Perth!

IMO they want to make it as difficult and time consuming as possible to put your car over the pits because a large percentage of people have yellows for modifications etc. The harder it is to get over, the less people will do mods so they win.

We've still got it very good in WA, in the UK (where I lived for a couple of years) Any car older than 5 years has to go over the pits EVERY year regardless. You see some of the deathtraps on ou roads & this isn't such a bad idea, although I'd hate to do it.

Not sure about that. The guys that were at Warwick seemed pretty fair & friendly, although my Zed failed because of the window tinting. I had a sneaking suspicion it might fail! It was pretty dark albeit legal in NSW. Go figure!

then again, NZ has the wof system.

car has to go over the 'pits' every year.

from memory it took my old man 20 - 40 mins to do a car and the cost was minimal.

it was just a checklist.

why cant you book a time?

I'd have to agree that midland is a goer. When i was down there getting my truck license a month or so ago there was maybe 2 cars lined up at about 10.30am. Thats all.

C'mon man, "new cars from dealers" are hardly unroadworthy and modded, so of course they will get overlooked. Im sure you have MANY friends in the industry but a car advertised from a "reputable" dealer will probably have fewer problems / illegal mods than a 15y/o shitta import.

I dont blame them for inspecting your car either and i highly doubt it took THEM 3 HOURS TO INSPECT YOUR CAR (maybe 3 hour wait but thats a different thing)

Its got goodness knows how many little problems, a different engine, a different box, etc etc etc, so of course its going to take a lot longer

Steve, speak to Wade, hes a full bottle on it now
