Default Buying a 05 STI

Gday guys/girls,

I am looking at buying a black 05 STI from a dealership on leach highway, anyone know the background on it??

Also, havent driven, or been in any other wrx other than my 02 WRX, and was wondering if there are any problems that i should be looking at when test driving it??

Thanx...

in a car that new. There should no problems what so ever.

But dont be alarmed if it shudders and makes weird noises when you do low speed maneuvering like in a carpark. Its normal. its just the DCCD Centre diff. Put it to full rear lock and it should be mostly alleviated.

I took it for a drive this afternoon, and when changing gears, either up or down, it sounded like it was a clunking noise from the front diff, when the clutch was released??

MaTE, blAck 05 STi at MELVILLE MITSUBISHI? i work there as a mechanic, its not a good deal!! Cheap tyres on the car that worth about $89 each, it gets driven hard by the salesman who gets to ride it home every night. And the clunk noise you talking about, YES! it has DIFF problems. The used car manager didnt want to give a damn about fixing it.... you know how dealership is!! I suggest to look for another STi somewhere else mate, unless you realli realli want it

If this is the car you're talking about, come and talk to me at melville mitsubishi. My name is ANDY

Who gives a shit if some one from Melville Mitsi reads that. If they are stupid enough to try and sell a car with a serious defect with the drive train then they dont deserve to sell cars at all.
