So theoretically, they should pull all the way to redline. I think it won't be long after they are out before everyone agree's that the king is dead (2L), long live the king (2.5).
Here here!

Out of the box it will be fun, with a few basic mods even more. I won't be modding the 2.5 to the extreme anyway so it really isn't a concern, however the technical knowlege displayed in this forum is appreciated.

STi with the 2.5 will cane the EVO out of the box.
HAHAHA, I'd take that challenge. I have very little doubt that the 4G63 motor with a 2ltr MIVEC will match the performance of the 2.5ltr in most circumstances, actually any 4G63 motor will go the full challenge with the 2.5ltr.

Have you driven both cars/engine configurations? I can tell you now which is faster in track applications.... the driver with most talent and other car aspect. Nothing to do with the engine.

When are ready to try this out give me a call, and I'll do it without the Mivec. hehee

Don't worry, Perth-wrx.com will slowly become Perth-evo.com just keep a close watch

I want to reneg my STi order and go to the Darkside. Evo all the way! Ha!

By the way in regard to driver talent, I am the best, ask my brother "I am an excellent driver... only on Sundays... never on Tuesdays." Rain Man

I think absolute performance aside, the 2.5 will be a much nicer car to drive for 95% of the time vs a 2Ltr. For example... if I forget that I am in 3rd, I can still drive off lol without stalling. You can take 2nd gear corners in 5th and just lug a bit. I have thrashed my 2.5 heaps to its 7500rpm redline at 20psi ..... no self destruct. Granted it does have billet rods, forgies, plate deck honed, closed deck and assembled by per4mance in qld....but in terms of design theres nothing wrong. My block isnt even one of the new ones with webbing its a liberty 2.5 N/A block I think.
