think polar meant that his 2.5, which he had to use the original STI V5/6 heads didn't have AVCS

Does anyone have any concrete proof that the STI is 2.5L available? I have a mate who is adamant that it won't be and would love to stick it to him...

Yes the MY06 STi is a 2.5. It has been confirmed by the Dealer I bought it from. STi06 has also had his car confirmed. It is a 2.5. No freaking doubt. Stick it to him.

I was a doubter, but have had it confirmed by STI here in Melbourne. (And not a salesman who was trying to sell me one, but an STI technician.) Definately going to be a 2.5 STI. Now to book me a test drive

The new model's awesome. Looks, power and fun. areS go the appointment with the optometrist. Ha! MY03-MY05 is dubious is the looks anyway.

I agree the STi looks hot. WRX looks okay. People should stop bagging them until they see the car in the flesh and once the engine specs are released. I have heard we can expect a few goodies as far as internals are concerned, therefore different from the US Spec 2.5. Not long to all is put to rest.

Still doesn't make up for how fugly they are

they got hit with the ugly stick on the way out of the factory. They are too bitty, everything looks too stuck on... they are growing on me, but slowly. Very slowly
