My car nearly stalled today while i was idling at the lights. Heard the revs drop for a second, the Defi's went off and came back on straight away. Happend twice. Nothing seems to be going right with my car.

1) Does it happen while you are slowing down and stopping at the lights.

2) Or does it happen after you have stopped and the engine is idling a bit before it stalls?

Regards,
Mao

I had a similar issue, my car was stalling when at idle, eg clutch in waiting at lights, clutch in rolling up to lights. Thoughts from those in the know was an air/vacuum leak, although the revs at idle would sit at 800 and be fine, or drop off to nothing then jump to 1200, or just from off to nothing and stall, and occasional rotary idle.

After those in the know spent a day checking up to the heads looking for an air leak, (I had an error code lean on left bank) and found nothing, their next move was to remove the heads, a second opinion was to fit an after market computer or have the ecutek re tuned. I went for the retune and solved the problem.

Less than $300 and problem solved. May not be your issue, but it solved my problem.

Check for vacuum leaks first.
