did you explain to them that the gears are pressed on the other end to where the bend is so it couldnt of caused it.

sorry to hear but dealers are the worst for this shit, they only care about their profit margin. They will look for any avenue of excuse. Its the same in every industry

Yep i told them that but they said that it was due to way the shaft end was held??? Something sounds suss coz the mechanic is one of the best subaru mechanics in perth. So many dealerships are trying to get him to work there and he has done countless boxes so i doubt he would of done it.

Consumer Affairs = Toothless Tiger in my humble opinion anyway. Been there, Done it. Outcome = wasted time

i thought they might reject your claim!! i know how stingy parts departments are!!! the main reason is that they cant be sure if they will get their money back!!

its sort of a messy situation, he cant prove its faulty from the factory, they cant prove the mechanic did it.

have this problem alot at my work, but we are generally pretty good and have good relations with our clients and give em a new one and send the old one back for warranty.

Looks like the saga continues....

My mech rang the service manager explaining that the gears were pressed on with all the correct tools and also that the gears needed f/all pressure to press them on especially no where near that much to bend a shaft. Have to ring him today and see what the outcome is. Doesnt look good though
