Advantage/Disadvantage 2.0, 2.2, 2.5L?
Im currently building a motor at the moment, car in the workshop all stripped apart. I built a Ej257 with forged pistons an rods but a rod bolt snapped and it all turned to shit.
So im either going to build a 2.2L or a 2.5L motor. 2.2 will prob be a stroked ej20 What are the advantages and disadvantages of each??? What would you do? Thanks in advance |

2.0 Higher revving, less lowdown power.
2.5 lower revving, bigger displacement allows for more exhaust so bigger turbo possibilities.(flame suit on) weaker construction. 2.2 Costly. need to buy a kit for 2.0

EJ207 can take more boost than you can throw at it.
Why not a 2.7L ?

your not mistakenly thinking an ej207 is 2.7L are you kato?
I don't think you can get any further out of that size block than 2.5L. you would make the block way too weak. Why not go ez30?

There is a few around. Mine WAS one.
So a 2.2L should be a good balance between high reving an low down torque? I want something that revs high but also has good low down street driving power What roughly do you think the cost difference would be form a 2.2 to a 2.5? about 3grand? |
