I remember with the wagon, tarmac spring rates with every brace i could find and replaced all the bushings with every conceivable stiffer rating, it was SHIT at the drags, however around the bends and quick chassis reaction, it was great, so work out what is more important. For me it was going around corners.

Sort straight line out first then corners... Diff bushes can be done at any time imo. Whilst best time to do engine and g/box is when its out, much harder when its back in so ill do that now..

Also how important do you rekon replacing the front diff with say a cusco item is in terms of preventing understeer and off the line at the drags?? Or is the rear more important?

Id recommend stiffening diff mounts and suspension arm bushes. It helps reduce wheel tramp on hard launches and maintain correct suspension geometry under load.

Change the springs and shock absorber dampening to control grip as needed.

Front diff upgrade was a night and day difference. When I used to run with the open front it would single peg the front off the line and the viscous rear was average but worked. 1 way front, 1.5 way rear = happy times.

Edit:
I think the tyre choice/size is going to make a real difference if chasing the straight stuff is what you want.

Yeah im running a cusco rear 1.5 way and soon to get the DCCD box installed. Im wondering if the front diff will be better than getting rear bushes??

I will be running standard WRX suspension to help squat off the line. But i do think it will be better for softer bushes on the rear to help absorb off the line??

Tyre choice im still undecided- im was initally going to go with 15s and use seans drag tyres. But it will mean i have to change front and rear brakes/ discs to 98 wrx which ive got from ramon to borrow. Rear brakes will need some modding to fit though which is a pain in the arse..

So i might just stick with sti 17s with appropriate rubber..

I suppose i have to get the engine sorted out first before making all these plans.. haha

The shroud looks fantastic though. Will have some pics of it tomorrow, before i send it off for some carbon loving

^ Sounds awesome.

Is it going to be in a drive-able form for the McRae cruise Tino?

Brent.
