Yeah I'm wondering if you'll get air cavitating with that sort of edge around it. Im assuming its there for strength and something to seal against?

Definitely going to get a lot of turbulence, might want to fab some deflectors from the lip down to the inside of the shroud if you want real bathroom spec

its only freeflowing air though , not like the inside of a manifold or anything

That looks really good hey!
The only thought I had was with the amount of torque that motor produces, the IC pipe may rock around with the engine and fowl on the shroud, which appears to be fixed to the chassis. Are you planning on trialling this shroud before getting the carbon one fabbed up?

Yup i cant see it doing anything really plus there are exit points just under the intake pipe for the cutout of it. Its only air coming out plus it will get sucked out when the air flows over it when the car is in motion. I have taken it off the car in any case and will trim a little of it back as its only there because im going to put the rubber on it to make a good seal..

I pulled the engine out for the first time in a suby or any motor in fact. Got right to pulling the heads off before the closing bell rang. Oh well will wait til monday to find out the news... Very simple though not much to it though time consuming... Heres some pics with the bonnent closed...

The shroud is fixed directly to the intercooler which the intake pipe is fitted to also as you can see from the pics. There is enough gaps there to be sure that in the case of movement it will be fine. The Shroud is fixed by two fixing points Top and bottom) either side of the IC and is very strong with no flex at all. So i dont think it will be an issue going to the next phase.. I am going to trim some of the rear lip as only a small section is needed for the rubber to fix to it. Also going to change a couple of little things just for asthetics before taking it to the carbon man..
