Are the Prodrive, WRC, door cars not shaped around the cage? If so, I would get them before the cage or else they may not fit. You also have to consider if you need/want a full WRC spec cage or if it will be up to the regs for what you intend to use the car for.

Also, once it is caged..... it will never be the same and I predict that you will go down the path of others... and get sick of it.
I hope this doesn't happen as you have taken the project this far, I just hope you start enjoying it soon.

Can not wait to see the finished product

Toni.. They have a cut out in the door trims to fit the cage (see attached pics) so i will make the intrusion bars fit that similar profile. I am either thinking of doing this or getting the STI door trim centre section re-done in carbon to remove some of these cheap carbon lined plastic fittings i had done..

If i do go down the caged path. it will be a hidden cage with the main hoop and roof panels all welded in so you cant see them.. The rear half will be a bolt in and the side intrusion bars removeable.. This will all be to CAMS regulations and as the main hoop is welded in should keep the chassis much more rigid... The cage will all depend if i end up doing superlap next year..

P.S to the fk that wrote that tag.. come say it to my face you jealous kunt!!!!!!!!!!! Maybe you should get off your arse and work harder instead of being on the dole..

Heaps of cars with no cage doing superlap Tino. I think it was the Autotech WRX that was hitting 250+km down the straight that didn't have one lol.

Have you done some math to see what it costs to get over there etc?

Yeh but this would be more of a safetly standpoint for me especially since i know Jason in the autotech WRX is a superb driver..

I havent done too much investigating.. I know that the entry fee is very cheap 500-1000 for the clubsprint series..

In terms of travel i was thinking of hiring a trailer and driving down there, which may be a cheaper way to go?? I can store my car at a few guys workshops that i know over there..

but i think that it can easily be a 20k exercise to get there and compete. So if i can get the majority of this covered by putting stickers on the car then i will do so... Im only just thinking at this stage..

yeah, was suprised at how cheap the actual entry was, considering its an international event.

Definetly knowing a few guys over there would help.

I'll hopefully be there to cheer you on. I'll get a big banner made up.
